That is Motley Fool speak for you. Maybe it means there were fewer buyers than sellers, but on average each buyer was buying more shares than the average seller was selling. So one buy order for 10,000 shares gets filled with 5000 shares from two sellers - 33% of trades from the buy side and 66% from the sell side.
A clearer thing to say that is that the price rose 9% on large volume.
