I’ve appreciated your thoughts on various aspects but this is getting sloppy - interest rates were low when BNPL started - they’re now essentially 0 and it’s years before they’re going anywhere. Furthermore with the amount of debt in the system now arguably they can’t raise rates particularly far without the whole system caving in on itself. A strategy based around concern of 5, 7 or 10% interest rates is very naive. So too is looking to cryptocurrency for any insights into the real world.
If PayPal were to be a real problem the major merchant sign ups would have dried up by now, it’s been months since they entered. I got this one wrong as well.
