You are 100% correct but corruption in stock markets is endemic.
Let's see if I can give you an insight........any organization ,once it reaches a certain size automatically becomes corrupt to a certain degree and this includes governments, relgious organisations, finance companies, banks......I could go on with examples but if I did I would still be typing at midnight. They just have to reach a certain size, and share markets are an excellent example of just that. The ASX of course doesn't really care as long as it gets paid for it's services....the more the merrier.
Judges,barristers,priests, ceo's .bankers, financiers,solicitors ....all of these types of people have at times had associated people in jail for illeagal activity........theft, fraud,malesting children,false accounting, etc etc etc.....
Now the share market , well that's a doosy mate and you apparently are seeing it first hand and you so desperately want to believe it's honest and sqeaky clean and the interesting thing is that I was once just like you...........good luck.
