it was a historical moment not that was ever existed before as you need to pay someone to get rid of the glut due to the limitation in physical storage (like we pay to remove the rubbish).
It's not a best example for stop loss though... it's the best example for risk management - not to roll over a future contract on a bloody settlement day.
