$100k is all relative - for someone with a net wealth of $20m it is nothing more then a lazy wager with his slush fund, that might pay for an addition to his holiday house.
for someone with net wealth of $100k it is a serious investment and wouldn't be made if he wasn't sure.
I think he falls into the first category.
