Hi Jarik,

OGC is underperforming the ASX gold index (XGD)since May 2010. I have done well with OGC but sold out all my holding in January when the price turn down accelerated. Since then have only traded small parcels for small gains. There has been a lot of BOT activity and significant levels of short trading on OGC over last 6 months. Also some recycled negative news on the Dipidio project in the Phillipines. Until this subsides a price breakout above 3 is unlikely in my opinion.


Your chart looks fine: Would suggest you also look at weekly and monthly OGC charts to get a better idea of the trend. If you have Relative strength comparison indicator in your software package then you can see the underperformance of OGC vs XGD(note RSC is not the same as RSI). I find RSC useful to identify the best performing stocks in the best sectors.
