Just a note that QE2 has not actually ended. It just means that the Fed has officially stopped buying treasury bonds but continues to keep its balance sheet at that level by continuing to refinance maturing bonds.
Right now the democrat and republic are at a deadlock balancing their budget deficit spending and taxes and if they don't come together by Aug 2 to approve their 14.3 trillion debt limit, they would default on their debt resulting in lower credit ratings. This would send the global economy into panic mode.
