the median line from the first price pivot through the median price between the next two price pivot points, is what determines the upper tine/parrallel

pivots being either: low, high, low (OR) high, low, high - usually more than five bars or candle sticks apart - any smaller and they start being called mini-pitchforks

for low, high, low - the upper tine will come off the high pivot

for high, low, high - again, the upper tine will come off the second high

it's just a case of what direction the pitchfork is pointing - up or down
