    Yes, I can give multiple examples, but as you were there just take NWE as a prime example. The chart was showing full weakness when everyone was saying that the FA was excellent. In that scenario the chart won. So the chart will show strength prior to most SP changing events, like the decision to have a JV partner wouldn't have been decided on over night, so the chart has ample opportunity to show it.

    The benefit of charting is you aren't entering on weakness and have to sit in a security that isn't going no where. You enter on strength once the chart moves and you exit on the weakness. That's on a short term position. Short term positions can and do turn into momentum trades on continued strength showing in the chart.

    It basically revolves around how each person's trading strategy has them interacting with the market. My strategy is short term to capture the peaks & troughs.
