Just quickly, if the gap was created by RATIONAL exhuberance based on FUNDAMENTALS then it will probably NEVER be filled. In your scenario, the 'gaps' will be filled (i.e. trade points ) and so will all the 'non gaps' be trade points on the continuum down. You too are welcome to more guidance.
