    clearly you are not medical. Docs take all the info they can get to make decisions. Troponin is currently a late diagnostic aid, and heavily relied on. Prior to that there is how the patient looks, pulse and BP, history, ( yes that is quite enough to diagnose a bad MI). Then the ECG will help, takes 6 mins or so to apply, gives all kinds of weird looks and often needs one to find an old one for comparison, so maybe an hour to get the notes, but also maybe enough if it a classical MI with lovely ST elevation. But wait, here is a finger prick test, conclusive on its own, takes 5 mins. Gee, reckon we should try that as well, first even, how about in the house before even in the ambo.... negative... ha... stay home buddy, see your GP . Problem mylantared.
