China has cut subsidies for electric cars, that's 1.4 billion people who no longer receive government/free money to buy electric cars.

If people are no longer given free money to buy a certain product they no longer want to buy that product, hence the demand falls.
Now they're buying up their own supply in Australia.
That's a sign.
Why cut subsidies, reduce demand, then go around the world buying up Lithium companies?
The Chinese aren't stupid, they control 80% of the rare earth market that are used in battery chemicals.

I would imagine once they have secured their own supply they will induce a new policy to stimulate growth in the EV sector, IMO
