Seems a bit high so imo apparently includes ore not actually processed to produce a usable product..?
Use the Li metal - LCE conversion factor of around 5.3 and it converts to just over 400,000t of LCE.
Most accounts, afaict, have a global 2019 number closer to 325,000t-350,000t LCE.
Again, it is critical to use apples and apples.
Circa 50kg of LCE in an average EV battery pack, which is about 9.4kg of Li metal.
You can use Li metal or LCE, just gotta be consistent!!!
In any case, Li demand for EV batteries in 2030 is shaping up to be over 10 times what it was last year. Massive. Plus other battery types.
