In this grave hour, perhaps the one of the most fateful in our share holding history, I ask my fellow shareholders to stand calm and firm and united in this time of trial.
The task will be hard. There may be dark days ahead, and war can no longer be confined to the market, but we can only do the right as we see the right, and reverently commit to our cause.
If one and all we keep resolutely faithful to it, we shall prevail.
We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end.
We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in our company.
We shall defend our shares, whatever the shorters may do.
We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds.
