I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with your statement, but couldn't you draw that exact same analysis on any of the other bear trends you see in the very same graph?

For charting I think you generally have a very good handle on things, but it goes without saying that changes in fundamentals combined with macroeconomic conditions can buck any trend on a graph. I appreciate I'm in the Charting thread so somewhat out of line!
