Charts don't lie, but they cause people to behave like sheep. How many use charts to make investing decision? How many interpret them in a similar fashion?
For instance, one person's decision to sell big becomes an action, which causes reactions, which gets plotted on a chart for posters to say 'see we are in a downward channel'. In the absence of the true reason for the initial decision, no new factual news 'trends' continue, but what happens with the company? Do they down tools/stop selling goods/services until a chart says people should buy?
As for 'smart money'... do 'they' always get it right? Is 'smart money' actually short term punters whom chase quick gains or investors in worthwhile businesses?
