This argument surrounding charts is absurd. If people are saying they buy a share without looking at the chart or TA then I find that very hard to believe. A chart is the graphic depiction of investor sentiment at any given time. Think about that for a while. Why in this case is sentiment down? A chart won't tell you the future but it will give you an insight into the current company dynamics if not the current fundamentals. I get a bit tired of the old "the fundamentals are still good". And how do you know this? A companies fundamentals (at this stage) can change over night and you will be none the wiser but a chart is laid bare for all to see on a daily basis. You can argue all day about the fundamentals as it really is a guessing game but you can't argue with a trend. It's either going up or going down. Until they stop using words like "expected" and "not if but when" then sentiment will be down, just like the chart. A chart will indicate when the fundamentals are improving or deteriorating long before the mums n dads are told about it. This game is not a level playing field. Try to use all the tools at your disposal to keep up. That includes charts and TA.
