Brokers don't sit around all day and buy and sell shares.. they get orders in they need or want to fill, and they set up an algo to buy X amount of shares over a given period.. give it hours, days or weeks.
That is why you will see random trades for minimal number of shares ... they can do this as it doesn't cost them brokerage every time they trade.
Personally I try to keep an eye on how the business is performing, rather than what the chart or intra day trading is playing out.
Afterall we are buying shares in a business, not a chart.
