Please don’t stop expressing your views. We are all here to learn from one another, the good and the bad. Whether I agree with all the views expressed, I have learnt a lot from this forum ranging from collective’s suspicions (from there, conspiracy theories), to a retailers mindset as to how we are all conditioned by a depressed share price. It has made me ponder.

One of of my mentors who taught me about investing said investing is 90% psychology and 10% financial literacy. When despondency and fear sets in, we act irrationally. When exuberance from surging prices set in, we also act irrationally. Seen in that light, my mentor warned me that this is a mug’s game. We must be cognizant that we enter the markets to get “robbed” by whatever masters us. When fear masters us, we sell to a low price. When exuberance masters us, we buy and chase prices when it’s surging (hopefully, not caught out when the momentum dies).

How not to be caught out? Well, my mentor says the battle is fought in the mind, not in the stock market. The market is merely the stimulant. Don’t react to the stimulant. Respond.
