My understanding is that DMA CFDs do actually result in purchase or selling of stock on the market. So if you go short using a DMA CFD you are selling stock that is borrowed and made available to you. I have a DMA CFD account with FP Markets and have just checked their DMA CFD Market List. FLC can be traded long using DMA CFDs but the margin is 100% so there really isn't any point in doing this. FLC cannot be traded short on FP Markets using DMA CFDs. I think there are only about 250 stocks that are available for short selling via FP Marlets.
