i have never understood the logic behind after market announcement of a supposedly bad result. By this action doesn't it just draw attention to a perceived bad result? I'm interested to understand what damage does this limit? Doesn't it just delay the market reaction to monday?
surely it's designed for people to dijest the results and maybe not be so brutal when the market opens? But doesn't the market price the stock regardless of timing of release?
Great if someone could explain the thinking and actual tangible benefit of Friday after market close release.
Not saying it's going to be a bad result, but I suspect people will focus on profitability outcome and some delays in bigger projects based on previous predictions and commentary.
