The ASX closing auction is supposed to happen at 4:10:00, but in reality it can be at an unspecified time after that which today happened to be 4:10:53. At 4:10:50 FLC looked like closing @ 37.5, but in the next second or so around 40,000 was dumped into the auction @ 37, which became the closing price. It's not your average trader who is able to fine tune their timing within a second or two of the variable auction closing time! Interesting .......
