Correct... Unfortunately Hot Copper is publicly anonymous (although they have our personal details on file) so most posters feel like they can say whatever they feel like. Or whatever suits their agenda really ('this will go way up' when selling and downramping when trying to buy... )

It would be a different picture if a real identity and name had to be used, perhaps via a Facebook account or similar. Like at Quora. I think posters will behave much more responsibly knowing there is a level of reputational risk.

For the time being however, it is the wild wild west of opinion shaping the inexperienced speculators where anyone can up / down ramp without any real consequences outside of a suspension (which is easily circumvented given the anonymous nature of the forum). IMO again, of course
