The first BD1 tests were to detect lung cancer, then they were adapted to work for ovarian cancer. Only recently have they published any information about research on whether similar tests could work for breast cancer. In any event, most of the proof of concept research seems to have been done by labs at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, not at UWA (although the ED is an adjunct professor there).
There's a number of companies and universities doing research or developing tests in this space at the moment. Some of these are listed on the most recent BD1 investor presentation (page 14). It's worth a read.
