By results, do you mean the DIB outreach challenge? Perhaps the sign-off on contracts is also waiting on results. If you were considering different products, an in-depth independent test could go a long way towards helping you decide. Potentially a short term make or break.
I still think the email seems a tad desperate and might not have happened if larger contracts weren't proving such a tough nut to crack.
