Customarily, the market will wait for the merger to take place.
But really, it's a done deal now. Nothing will actually change simply because the merger is transacted.
"The wild ride" could start any minute.
But, we know it won't.
In any case, unless either company has something substantial to announce (assuming they are holding it back pending the completion of the merger) we could see at least 6 months while they implement the consolidation of admin teams, management, and even scientists looking for cost efficiencies.
There will be the inevitable gnashing of teeth and maneuvering to see who gets the corner office.
But, this is just noise. Fundamentally, the deal has some great elements.
Hopefully, this will be one of those biotechs that goes stratospheric on the whiff of an oily petri dish.
