Instead I'll encourage you to take up Tarvold's suggestion to craft an insightful question directed at management.
Kicking off by summarising one of your better points, something along the lines of the below could maybe act as a more effective mental salve.
"Are there any specialist business development staff that actively engages existing clients with the view of developing the business relationship? If so, is management happy with the level of engagement or is there an intention to increase engagement levels to better understand client purchasing needs?"
One of the remarks is that timing and/or size of client orders is not easily quantifiable. Perhaps the question is why is this the case? Is client engagement levels deemed sufficient or is there more to do here?
