I am still trying to get my head around the practice of shorting. I know they borrow stock, sell them immediately in the hope to buy them back at lower price. My question is how long (and from whom) are they borrowing these stocks? At the current range between 1.285-1.340 they surely can't make that much money, and probably have to pay a borrowing fee as well? At some point they have to return the stock to the borrower? And what's in it for the borrower (the fee?)?
