According to shortman chart, the short position of 461,421 was recorded on last Thursday (20/1/22). Shortman data was lag by 4 trading days.
Yesterday (27/1/22) the shortSold was 150K. shortSellPosition 4 trading days before yesterday (ie.last Thursday 20/1/22) was 461,421. So it looks like CommSec gets its shortSellPosition data from the same place as shortman.com.au.
Hence your snapshot row of data from CommSec is confusing ie. shortSold of 150K was up to date but the shortSellPosition of 461,421 was lag by 4 trading days.
We'll find out from shortman chart over the next 4 trading days to see how many shares have been returned in the last 3 days.
