My company is primarily engaged in R&D. Each year we are due a substantial R&D rebate. There are small finance houses that specialise in lending against the tax rebate, so it is a very useful tool for managing our cashflow.
I am in fact right now drafting tax docs to claim the rebate, one of the most painful parts of my job. Mildly more enjoyable than trepanation with hand tools.
