Whilst I get your point and want to focus in on what's holding sentiment back, here is an interesting perspective from CSL boss Paul Perreault on lessons learned:

Perreault says that he never tried to be a salesman for CSL shares like he had seen some other CEOs do. “I was doing our road shows and we had a break. One analyst came in and said: ‘So why should we buy the shares?’ I said: ‘If you have to ask me that question, don’t buy them’. “He said: ‘But you’re the CEO.’ I said: ‘Yeah, my job is not to sell you stock. If you want to talk about the strategy, the portfolio, where we are headed and you like what you hear then please buy the stock. But if not, I’ve got plenty of shareholders.’ He was shocked and said: ‘I’ve never heard a CEO say that’. “If you do the right things for the business, for the patients, the values and culture of the organisation and if you have something meaningful to deliver then things should work out ok.”
