I've seen this type of thing said numerous times on this BRN forum. People claiming to have some really exciting news (or similar), which ends up being a nothing burger.
Hard to know what this is without the OP saying it, but at the same time, I personally think that releasing the contexts of personal text messages and emails is pretty dodgy unless the other person specifically consents to the information being provided on a public forum.
I've seen this type of thing said numerous times on this BRN...
