A nice balanced article about the US markets over night. Note the buyers came back in the afternoon. The only unknown at the moment or for next 24 hours is whether the Chinese developer will default on its Bank commitment. If it does or needs the 24 hour extension this will continue to feed anxiety in US markets as they cannot agree on the effect an all out default will have on the housing markets elsewhere.

So I think it is clear that housing market defaults will not affect the semiconductor market in the next 6 months. The semiconductor market cannot meet demand as it is and this lack of capacity has seen a gross worldwide $180 billion dollars being directed to increase capacity. That increased foundry capacity is a couple of years away so any reduced consumer demand as a result of housing defaults will likely not impact heavily on the industry and perhaps give a bit of breathing space for an industry that cannot meet demand.

Brainchip was if you accept the Pitt Street Research report significantly under valued and has no debt. Plenty of cash and is in the semiconductor not the housing industry. Nor does it use iron ore (which is cheaper now anyway). Nor does it need coking coal which is in short supply.

So it is a question of external not internal factors affecting whatever happens with the Brainchip share price today and for the rest of the week.
