Pure speculation here but I feel perhaps the sudden interest, SP increase and SP resiliance is not only supported by institutions.. there are probably a lot of people working for the big NDA companies using Akida, these people have likely told their Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Parents and Grandchildren how to make some money. Hey Uncle Joe, trust me, buy BRN now, because the Washing machine/Electric car/Mobile phone/Sniffing device/Carwash/Doorbell/Airfryer/Bluetooth speaker/Space shuttle/Plane/Stapler about to be released to market this year has an Akida chip in it.
