if something has been cooked up with, for example, Elon, then not only would they be done with insider trading but also failing to disclose material info to market. Unless there was some sort of NDA to hold off announcement till for example 'battery day', then it would possibly be just insider trading.

My guess is that Sam told Rob that he was looking to sell some shares to dispurse funds through his charity, and also buy some more to off set any negative sentiment. Rob's replied cool, I'll throw a couple of clams at it as well to avoid possible deterioration of sp.

IMO, I don't think either of these guys are dummies that would put themseves in any sort of vulnerable position for a couple $million. Also why I don't believe we will hear anything directly CLQ related on battery day.
