You are correct with your percentage the plot scale is incorrect but the trend remains.
I did investigate a bit further and as a percentage of volume the short activity remains similar
16 Apr Gross Shorts 1,992,172 and Volume 30,982,379 ... shorts as % of volume = 6.4% 15 Apr Gross Shorts 226,776 and Volume 3,736,635 ... shorts as % of volume = 6.1%
Roughly x10 increases in volume and gross shorts.
Not sure if anything of value can be gleaned from the above?
One possible thought progression might be that while the short activity as a % of issued capital has increased this can mostly be explained by the increased volume (shorts as % of volume relatively constant) ... which may indicate that the incentive to short remains similar pre and post approval ... ie the current price fully reflects the perceived value of the announcement?
At the very least next few weeks will be interesting.
