May I have a guess?Maybe related to your broker? With CMC and commsec, shares assigned holder ID number (HIN) to me, but some budget brokers hold all shares under a single HIN to cut costs, and keep their own records of which of their customer accounts ‘owns’ the corresponding shares. Slightly riskier apparently, because shares not actually in your name. So perhaps when you place a buy order in with one of these budget brokers, you pay for the share at the price you bid, and your account with the broker reflects the purchase at that price. But the broker may be buying that share at same price for many account holders, so it bulk buys as it were. But the ASX only shows a bid from one HIN registered purchaser, being the broker on behalf of it’s customers. With Commsec and CMC, I see my buy and sell orders.
