I take your point there is so much data and data analysis on shorts it's impossible to know what's going on but how about I give you the benefit of 6 timesthe doubt to account for "intraday shorts? Or shorts held over one to a few days? Are short stats only compiled from voluntary reporting? And if the reporting were compulsory, does the duration of short term shorts affect whether they are reportable? i.e. the shorts are opened and closed before meeting reporting thresholds." and it's still pips.
