I know that mostinstitutional investors and private investors don't care about themedium to long term (they pretend to or at least tell themselves and theirinvestors they do). They only care about the share price over the next month or quarter, or in the caseof retail investors, the next week is pushing their patience.
But anothermedium to longer term potential growth area that Beamtree seems interested inis Genomics / Personalised Medicine, as it has been mentioned a few times inpast ASX presentations under the transformation / expand the core sections. Ithink the ceo has a bit of a background and interest in Genomics from his days inthe NHS.
It is still very early days for theGenomics industry in general, but in my opinion, I think a move into this areaof emerging health might be done somehow by expanding the useof Rippledown into Genomics and in partnership with another organisationfor the data, just a guess.
I believe that this could be verypromising for Beamtree, as genomics is the future of medicine, and those with amedical background will probably acknowledge this as a given as well.
I find Beamtree the most unique earlystage medical software stock I have come across on the ASX, far exceeding the earlydays 10 years ago, of the likes of today’s darling, Pro Medicus. Thereare some similar parallels to what Beamtree are building now within its ownindustry, the industry shifts that are beginning to occur in which it operatesin, and the partnerships it currently has.
It’s just Beamtreesend markets are many multiples larger than PME’s, and there are so many diversecurrent and future growth levers to pull with BMT. Plus some speculative bluesky added in with Ainsoff. Forget about the rest of Beamtree, just on its own Ainsoffcould end up being company making.
I find investors fickle, they will throwmoney at PME at $50 thinking it’s the highest quality stock on the ASX but were nowhere to be seen and ignored it below $0.60, ironically when the upside back then seemed much greater and the risks were much lower than today. I amnot disputing the quality of the company, the point is, if investors had donethe work approximately 10 years ago, it was not too difficult to identify whatit was developing into and its potential future and high quality back then,investors could have bought it in the $0.20’s, after investors lostinterest in it. That decline does bring back painful memories to me.
Those large selloff’s really test your conviction about a company. If we are being honest with ourselves unfortunately true conviction is only tested in the valley, not at the mountain top whereeverything looks rosy and is going well, which is where most investors, brokersand insto’s begin to get involved with a stock.
Bottom line is thatinvestors of all types, generally only see the potentialin a stock once someone else has done the work and joined all the dots for them,presented it to them on a silver platter, and in most cases have already seen the shareprice move up rapidly over a number of years. I could also add a lot of handholding and tones of reassuring is required in there along the way.
Sometimes this wider market awareness of a stock will come from mid to larger brokers that initiatecoverage on a stock, but this sometimes only begins after the stock hasincrease by many multiples, or done something that generates attention like a large acquisition or a new significant deal won, and or, has started to move into one of the ASX indices.I don’t expect anything different with Beamtree’s journey on the ASX over thenext 5 to 10 years.
