The current nickel price is still sitting around the PEP
estimate which includes sulphate premium and there's sufficient nickel to produce 1,000,000 batteries per year.
Even if some of the Chinese companies move away from cobalt intensive batteries, there will continue to be a need for cobalt, atleast for our lifetime, because far too much money has been invested into that technology now for it to just be dropped.
& then there's the scandium which has always been the cream on top.... If it happens that cobalt prices stay down for a few more years until the world legislates against artisinal mining then so be it, the cost through Sunrise to produce it is minimal and can be absorbed based on the sums they've produced, scandium will cover some of the shortfall.
