KIA is feeling the increased battery costs, they just increased the price of the EV6 by $5000, or 7%.
For a car that all ready has a 18 month order wait time due to its popularity this is a sign the industry's ability to source cheap raw materials is suddenly vaporising.
Just highlights the cost of EV batteries produced outside of China is going to get very expensive for car makers like GM, Ford, etc.
Therefore, the justification for a SRL - OEM partnership has just materialised thanks to KIA.
