I think you fail to understand that those talking up a stock are almost certainly holders, so people can put as much weight on their comments as they see fit, no deception even if they are talking rubbish. On the other hand those talking a stock down whilst purporting to hold are being outright deceptive, they sink the boot without genuine fact or intellectual integrity but try to infuse credibility by purporting to hold.
