Seems to me this has become the play thing of the day traders and institutional operatives (they are also day traders). This might continue until there is some definitive announcement that changes the sentiment to positive instead of a waiting game. This effectively means they are acting as if they are shorting the stock. They just need to look at the overnight sentiment on stocks and materials from the US and Europe then trade in that direction.
Any holder can sell from their holding then buy back while there is this lack of positive news hiatus.
