It's worth noting that there is still "action" (for lack of a better word like "self sabotage" or "bungling")in the US congress to get another $2.2 billion for establishing a secure supply of Leu. The same could be said for the Russian uranium ban. It's extremely frustrating when you consider that the support for congress funding a secure bank of Leu is basically bipartisan and has been to the house and senate in a few different bills that have had left or right leaning rubbish attached to them, meaning they are doomed to fail. The $500 million that has been approved for a bank of Haleu, although committed to its purpose is not enough alone to do the job. I'm of the opinion that this Leu funding will still find its way through, whether it is part of the national defence spending bill or in one of the other forms and is a substantial factor in the delay of the call for proposals on Haleu from the Doe.
