Only a few share holders would be large enough to block a acquisition but given their prudence I doubt they would look at any thing that was not a bargain . I don’t understand your comment on comparing it with a buy back a buy back may give a short term lift in share price but it’s not going to make any more tin and that’s the long term driver of the share price .
there was a interesting article in the FR on manipulation of the tin price in China but I don’t know how to post a link to it perhaps some one more familiar with posting can put that up for every one
