PEs for US companies normally average around 20 historically , it is about 24 at the moment so you could be right the markets could be 20% overvalued couple that with some strange economic theories from trump unsettling the market and there could be a rational reason for a pull back in company values.
Does that flow through to goldies - I have no idea
