Agreed. I'm fortunate to have some secured at 10c, so I looked into this early on. Fortunately it will only impact next year's tax, not this year's. For each of my 10c shares, the payment of 25c per share means my cost base for RMS will become 0c and I will have a discountable capital gain of 15c. For others bought above 25c, I follow the method described by substance only.
