I thought these two charts may add to those recently published. The first is a 2 Day Swing Chart which shows BHP in a down trend. A 1 day version shows the trend as uncertain while a 3 day version shows the trend as up. A weekly version of Gann's swing chart shows expanding ranges with higher swing tops and lower swing bottoms.
Since the swing charts do not agree the situation is unclear!

The chart below shows that short selling has accounted for up to 42% of daily trades. After a period of relatively low levels of shorting and several days of rising SP shorts may more than double. BHP's SP has still proven fairly resilient pending news of any spending splurge.
