Mate,
I follow fundamentals and technicals in my trading I will never rubish charts, I never make a trade based on charts alone as fundamentals have to be right also and I like to see the strength in US before entering a trade, to me charts are there to give history to the sp and guidance to where it is likely to move next but if there are enough technical traders that follow the charts alone they still can make things happen, there are always two opposing forces in the market and one of them will win at some point in time.
I am more short and medium trader but if I have to I will be flexible enough to hold stock for longer time provided charts and fundamentals are ok..........
