If you seriously run Linux, and want to be as compatible as possible with mainstream apps, Crossover is well worth the money.

The reason I recommend that Norgate Premium Data service is that their update apps and support apps all work perfectly under Crossover, unlike some of the other data services. Just works simply and bug-free.
